Sabine Becker was born in Germany and her life is as colorful and different as her Spirit People.  She started making the Spirit Dancers 10 years ago, while living in Alaska.  The story of the Spirit Dancer is as unique and unusual as the artist herself.   It is crafted entirely by Sabine with her "Special Feet."

She has not only lived and worked as a humanitarian relief worker for "Medicine sans Frontiers" in countries such as France, Somalia, Ethiopia and Venezuela, but she also was born without arms, due to her mother's use of the medication "thalidomide."  Sabine's parents never felt sorry for her, instead they took her, as a small child, to physical therapy, so she would learn to use her feet for all daily chores.  She lives completely independent.  Sabine uses her feet for everything, which includes being a gourmet cook and driving her car.
